Hotels, campsites, and self-catering gîtes in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer


Saint-Palais-sur-Mer is an attractive seaside resort in the Charente-Maritime with plenty of holiday accommodation on offer, from hotels to self-catering gîtes to campsites. There are five beaches in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and not surprisingly most of the holiday accommodation is in easy reach of these key tourist attractions.
The first beach is Plage de Nauzan which Saint-Palais shares with neighbouring Vaux-sur-Mer, which also has some good hotels and self-catering accommodation. There’s an hotel very close to the beach – the Hotel Nauzan – and three campsites nearby too. One of these, the ACCCF campsite, has three-star camping accommodation. The next beach along is the Plage du Bureau, the beach closest to the centre of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. There are three hotels close by, including Art’s Hotel and the aptly named La Plage Hotel. In addition there are also two hotel résidences or self-catering flats within a short distance of the beach.

HOTEL WITH SEA VIEWS

The town’s third beach is the Plage du Platin, which can be reached by a pretty cliffside walk from the centre of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. This beach, which is next to a residential area, doesn’t have any hotels, campsites, gîtes or B&B’s in the immediate vicinity but is close to the holiday accommodation in the town centre. The fourth beach - the Plage du Concie, which is probably the least visited of the five beaches – does not have a great deal of accommodation close to it either. The fine exception, however, is the beautifully located 3 star Hotel Primavera, which overlooks the sea.
In contrast there’s plenty of accommodation at Saint-Palais-sur-Mer’s fifth and largest beach the Plage de la Grande Côte – and specially if you like camping. There are no fewer than five campsites within just a short walking distance of the eastern end of this impressive beach. There is also an hotel – the Hotel Les Falaises – and a holiday centre. Two more campsites are within easy reach too and this is an area which is very popular with French tourists in the peak holiday season.
