Camus Cognac – a family history, guided tours and master blender workshop

camus cognac toursFor five generations, ever since 1863, the Camus family has cultivated a complete passion for wonderful cognac. The family has always controlled every stage of the cognac-making process from the land and the grape to the finished blend and the bottle.

This has ensured that every Camus cognac is marked by the personality of the family and the floral character of the Borderies, the smallest and rarest cognac growing area where the Camus vineyards are located.

Although he is forward-thinking, Cyril Camus today remains loyal to those values inherited from previous generations: tradition, quality, independence and the spirit of innovation. Camus is proud to be different, combining the magic of the spirit, the beauty of the bottle and the essence of time in magnificent cognac creations.

Jean-Paul Camus once said: 'Making a great cognac is easy. All you need is a great-grandfather, a grandfather and a father who have done it before you.'

With almost 150 years of cognac experience and a desire for quality at the core of the Camus traditional values, imagination and creativity can be given licence to think differently.

Who else could have come up with 'Joséphine pour Femme', the first cognac specially blended and packaged to suit female tastes?

Every Camus Cognac is the result of a long creative process, in which great attention to detail goes hand in hand with lofty inspiration, for being a cognac like any other is simply not good enough.

Making cognac is as much about art as it is about technique, so every product must fulfil the requirement of good taste and be a delicious challenge to all the senses.

A distinctiveness of flavour, distinctiveness of look and distinctiveness of personality; this has led to Camus being voted 'Best Cognac in the World' four times by the International Wine & Spirit Competition; in 1984, 1987, 1989 and 1999.
