Les Jardins de Montbron – a garden centre with a difference
The garden centre Les Jardins de Montbron in the Charente is a little out of the ordinary. On top of its wide range of garden plants and vegetables and its highly-regarded garden landscape and maintenance business, Les Jardins also has 6,000m2 of gardens for visitors to enjoy. 
These extensive gardens, which give people a chance to see the garden centre’s skills and plants ‘in action’, are split up into differently-themed areas. There is a vegetable patch, a town garden, decorative fences, a willow garden, a Mediterranean-style garden, a Chinese garden (see picture below), ideas for how to cover walls and roofs in plants, a town garden, a relaxing zen garden and even a labyrinth!
Of course it is the garden centre itself that holds pride of place. Here visitors will fine a wide range of plants to buy, from deciduous and coniferous trees, shrubs and fruit trees, to vegetable plants, annual flowers, perennials, Mediterranean and veranda plants, exotic plants and seeds and bulbs.
On top of the plants there are also lots of great materials – from wood to slate and metal to brick - with which to decorate your garden. Items on sale include gravel, coloured pebbles, paving and flagging, different types of decorative mulches, a variety of coloured pots and containers, screens and fences, plus a range of different composts and other garden accessories.
