Arthur and the Minimoys  - a fabulous 4D adventure at Futuroscope!

For some festive fun, experience the latest attraction at Futuroscope - an action film created by award-winning movie director Luc Besson.
France’s star director Luc Besson has created a 4D extravaganza for Futuroscope in time for a fabulous Christmas and new year treat. The multi-million euro attraction, called Arthur, l’Aventure 4D, is inspired by Besson’s hit film Arthur et les Minimoys. Showing on a domed IMAX screen that’s a whopping 900m2, visitors see as well feel thanks to a simulator seats that move in coordination with what’s on the screen.
Besson is one of France' most famous directors. He was nomintaed for a César Award - the French Oscars - for Léon and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, but won Best Director and Best French Director for his film The Fifth Element, which was a blockbuster world-wide release.
Besson created a trilogy of books about 10-year-old Arthur and the Minimoys - the Minimoys are small creatures the size of a tooth that live in the garden of Arthur's grandfather. Besson directed Arthur and the Invisibles, an adaptation of the first two books of the collection. A part live-action, part-computer-generated animated film, it was released in the UK and the USA with characters voiced by Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Mia Farrow, Robert De Niro and David Bowie.
For the Futuroscope attraction, vistors slip on their 3D glasses and take a breathtaking ride in the Minimoys’ flying ‘ladybuggy’ speeding through tunnels, avoiding dangers that include giant spiders and frogs with incredibly long tongues, the 'set' created by Hugues Tissandier, who works with Besson on his films.
During winter Futuroscope is open until 3 January. It reopens for the rest of the year on February 6. For more on the park see our page on Futuroscope or the park's own website.
