Snakes and other reptiles at L'île aux Serpents in the Vienne


If slithering creatures are your thing, at the L'île aux Serpents, Vienne you can see more than 50 species of reptiles.
Those on display include snakes such as pythons, boa constrictors and an anaconda, lizards including iguanas, geckos and monitor lizards, as well as tortoises and alligators.

The 250 or so creatures are contained in areas that resemble their natural environment. If you’re not squeamish, you can watch them being fed.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Opening hours:
It is open every day of the year; 10am-noon and 2pm-6pm. July/August it is open until 7pm.
The L'île aux Serpents is about a two-hour visit. Tickets: Adultes: €9; children €7; handicapped, €5.
