
Falconry displays with eagles and other birds of prey at Chauvigny in the Deux-Sèvres
Definitely one for the children, at Les Geants du Ciel in the old town of Chauvigny in the Deux-Sèvres, see entertaining displays of falconry with birds of prey. The birds taking to the air include eagles, eagle owls, vultures, black kites and hawks. Also flying are varieties of storks and macaws.
The show, which lasts about 45 minutes, is held in an open-air amphitheatre with view over the town. The birds soar around the towers of the old town's historic buildings as well as over the audience.
Afterwards you can see the birds in their aviaries with information about where they’re from and their habits.
In summer is can get very hot, so make sure you take a hat and plenty of water.
